From Our President... Kathy Reddick PRESIDENT-2024-2025 WOMAN'S CLUB OF SPRING LAKE
Thank you for the honor that you have entrusted to me to be your President. The theme for the next two years will be simple: Friendship, Fun, and Service. Serving this Club as President is not just a title for me, it’s a privilege that I hold dear. I pledge to lead with integrity and unwavering commitment to live up to our motto to Honor the Past, Treasure the Present, and Shape the Future, and I know that you will do the same. Three Pillars of a Friendship are Acceptance, Trust, and Support. Thank you to the Nominating Committee for an outstanding slate of officers, to all who accepted these positions to those who accepted my invitation to chair or continue to chair committees. We will be an unbeatable team. Thank you to all who completed the survey at the Spring Luncheon. We hear you and will be making your changes. Always keeping in mind, Friendship, Fun, and Service, we’ll build an agenda for the next two years together as a team. Your collective voice will be the team-spirit that will inspire the decisions we make together as a Board. Our highest priority will be to positively impact our community, our charities, Federation, and each other. The strength and the generosity of the women of this Club will guarantee our success. We are a powerful force.
To paraphrase a David Bowie quote: We’re not sure where we’re going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.
Kathy Reddick President of the WCSL
Overview of the Woman's Club of Spring Lake Our objectives are to support the charitable, operational, educational and social needs of organizations and individuals. We achieve these goals by raising funds throughout the year for local charities and our scholarship program. Our annual scholarship luncheon and gift raffle generate funds for scholarships to local high school students and women returning to college. Our club sponsors trips to cultural events, museums, musical events, and overnight trips. We sponsor food drives, bake sales, clothing collections, luncheons, and dinners. We work hard but we enjoy the company of our members. We belong to the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs(NJSFWC), founded in 1894, with over 200 clubs throughout the State. Its members are diverse in age and life experiences, but unified in their goal to make a difference in the lives of others. It lists among its accomplishments: • Founded NJ College for Women (Douglass College) • Built Science and Music Buildings • Raised funds for the Library, Student Center, Art Center, and theDevelopmental Disabilities Center for Autistic Children • Scholarships at Douglass for Art, Drama, Literature, Music, Federation Citizenship, Political Science, Continuing Education, Nutrition, and Science • Established numerous community libraries • Preservation of the Palisades • Grants to Women’s Shelters in 21 counties • Support for the Valerie Fund, Girls Career Institute and Food banks If you have ever considered joining a Women’s Club, we encourage you to contact us to discuss membership.
